Fun Girls’ weekend

John went to Ireland a week for his business trip, so I asked Eileen to stay my house for the weekend, so girls can enjoy some champagne and eat different food. As we planned before, we went to eat unlimited PingPong Dimsum on Friday night, then we were back home and we drunk two bottles of Rose Wine while we were chatting. It was dizzy but so much fun to get crazy sometimes.

Next morning, I cooked my new recipes Green Thai Prawn with baby spanish and Jasmine rice for lunch. It was so easy to cook and we enjoyed it so much. Then we decided to travel to Wimbledon where Eileen lives and had a walk in the park, then went to try the famous Korean Barbecue in New Malden.

Jin Go Gae Korean BBQ Review

Eileen from Soul of South Korean so she introduced to us a lot of Korean food and culture. We have been tried different Korean food in Central London. However, people say that New Malden is one of the popular Korean communities and the food from there is more authentic and cheaper. While we were in Wimbledon, New Malden is just 10 minutes by bus.

Eileen has booked the table of the famous restaurant called Jin Go Gae, and Miwa joined us for dinner as well, so we hopped on the bus 131 from Central Wimbledon and went to Burlington Road. We are so glad that we booked the table, because it was a small restaurant, and packed with Korean, Japanese Asian people eating there.

First, we were served with several compliments dishes which is impossible to find in Central London. Then Eileen ordered three portions of BBQ Beef Ribs and two portions of Pork Belly. All the meats were Marianne with delicious sauces, and you Barbecued by yourself. Then when it was done, you need to use the raw Vegetable rapped with the meat plus some spicy green onion or rice. The meat was unbelievable tender and juicy. Miwa and I was eating non-stop and Eileen was laughing at us.

It was the most delicious Korean BBQ ever. I gave it 5 stars and we only paid £15 each! What a good meal and bargain!

女人周末大吃会

约翰去爱尔兰出差1周，我叫好朋友Eileen周末过来我家住，两个女的一起吃喝聊天。约了周5见面，先去PingPong喝茶吃点心。然后回到我家，两人买了1瓶香槟喝酒聊天，然后感觉还不够mood, 再去买多一瓶。聊天到凌晨1点然后睡觉。

隔天，我煮了泰国绿咖喱大虾加菠菜给Eileen，她说味道十分正宗也十分美味，全都吃完。然后我们去温布顿Eileen的家坐会，决定晚上吃期待已久的韩国BBQ烤肉料理。Eileen幸好定了位置，因为那家人十分受欢迎。美和决定加入我们的大吃团。进了餐厅，哇，烧烤肉的味道都漂入你鼻子，再看看，里面都是坐的全是韩国人和日本人。

韩国烤肉我实在太喜欢了，正宗的吃法是用碳熏肉，然后加生菜和辣葱和肉一起吃。我们点了3大份牛肉2大份猪肉。我和美和吃得太高兴，生活肉是奄过，烤完一点都不老，多汁加十分鲜甜！实在太野味了。Eileen总笑我们吃得狼吞虎咽，韩国烤肉实在太好吃了，我天天吃都没有可以。我们实在享受这次女人周末大吃会。

Eileen and I went to the Jazz cafe to seeRay’s Jazz live above Foyle Book shop near Tottencourt Station. It was a small cozy cafe with Jazz Live band. It was very full and everyone went to listen their performance. Fantastic Music!

After that, we booked a table to Konaki Greek Restaurant according my research and it voted 4 of 5 Greek restaurant in town. Meet John inside the restaurant, and enjoyed our great lamb and greek pasta and wine.

Lamb is exactly tender as it should be. Eileen’s lamb shank and John’s BBQ chicken was perfect cook and very tasty. It was a good meal with friendly environment. It was my first time to try the Greek food and I absolutely love greek’s pasta.

It was a satisfied meal and chatted so much with Eileen.

I enjoy baking and cooking different types of food at home. Normally we cook Italian and British food at home, though I could cook some indian or chinese sometimes, it take a lot of preparation and the chinese ingredients are expensive here. I always think my Mum cooks the most amazing chinese food. However, I discovered that my Mum tends to put some pork and nice real meat stock inside the food, but John doesn’t like much pork because it is too fatty and greasy he said.

As John nowadays can eat some beef and it is cold winter snow day. I decided to make some Jamie Oliver’s recipes. Beef stew is the easiest winter food. It tastes meaty with different herbs. You can eat with some garlic bread or some Jasmine rice. Superb!

I always cook Bacon Asparagus Tortelloni and it is the quick and health dish, but delicious. Asparagus needs to be careful, hot water 3 minutes, and ice water for 1 minutes, then fried with garlic and butter 1 minutes. It will be the most crunchy tasty Asparagus ever. Trust me. I think I know different herbs and meat combination since I learned so much from the chef from TV.

I made some of the scones from James Martin’s dessert book, eat with clotted cream and Jam! As the dessert expert John said it was the most moist inside, crunchy outside and delicious scone ever, and better than a lot of shops are selling. It gave me so much joy and confident about my cooking.

The pumpkin pie we normally make at the weekend. I just made some chocolate cookies yesterday. I love cooking and I think it is nothing happier than people you love eating well and enjoying the food.

Vapiano is franchise Italian restaurant in Europe and the State. My friend Kevin took me there when we were working together. From their website page, it is described the restaurant is ‘Somewhere between the nicest of fast casual and hippest of casual dining restaurants is Vapiano’.

The interior design is clean modern, open-space, casual with high standard quality food, especially there is fresh basil plant in every single table. Pasta is home-made, and it cooks in front of you, so it makes sure all fresh. It comes with a big portion as well, and you can choose your pasta types. My favourite pasta is Scampi E Spinaci, which is king prawn with pesto and baby spinach and Salsiccia Con Fichi , which is spicy Italian sausage with fresh figs. (both £8.50,  I just made it sound so fancy, did I? ) They are the best. Pizza is making in front of you including the dough, crispy edge with interesting filling.

Price is incredible cheap and so reasonable. Pasta and pizza starts from £6. Dessert from £3 – £5. All the staff and chef speak Italian. It is a friendly and self-service restaurant, so suitable for a quick lunch and dinner place, but also somewhere you can enjoy hang out with your friends.

We have been there many times and it is always my favourite quick Italian health restaurant. You can see more restaurant picture and memu here. 4.5 stars out of 5 for sure and highly recommended. We always went to the one behind Topshop in Oxford Street, you can not miss it.

Vapiano是一个在欧洲和美国十分流行的意大利连锁餐厅，在牛津街Topshop后面是我们经常去的地方。朋友介绍我去，之后我就几乎是他们的常客。店里装修十分时尚及现代，干净又整洁。每台桌面上都有一盆新鲜的Basil香叶，随时需要随时栽放在你的意大利面里。所有的意大利面都是厨师每天新鲜制作，所以十分新鲜美味。有8－10种意大利面条给你选择，我最喜欢的2道是 ‘菠菜大虾意大利面’ 或是 ’新鲜无花果加意大利辣香肠‘ 超级是我的最爱，价格十分诱人，才8镑多，大大分量加新鲜原料。pizza也是新鲜到连馅底的面粉都是现场撮然后加下原料的。

价格实在便宜，这么新鲜好的餐厅意大利面从6镑起，甜点也是3－5镑。所有的东西都是现场炒和煮给你看，你可以学到东西又可以吃到好吃的意大利菜，当然所有的厨师也是意大利人，都说意大利话。不仅是自助式服务，健康，简单快捷的意大利餐厅。假如你赶时间又想吃个健康的意大利菜，Vapiano绝对是我首选。你可以从这里看到 菜单和更多图片。绝对推荐4.5星！

I haven’t seen Miwa from Japan since I returned from China, so we went out on Saturday night. All of my good friends love eating and trying various nationality food in London. We discovered a restaurant in Soho called Maison Touareg .

I haven’t tried Morocco food before and I know the food is very popular and delicious. It is famous for their lamb and chicken. John can eat chicken, and I love lamb, so we give it a try.

Food is absolutely delicious and interestingly, you also can order those water-pipe (nor sure the real name.) I gave it 4 stars out of 5. Price is reasonable. Appetite is from £3, main course from £12, and wine is from £17. Each we paid £18, not bad indeed.

One of my best friends in London Eileen (Jiyong) from Seoul has invited us to her place in Wimbledon, and made some Korean food for us and we also explored around Wimbledon area. It was a fun day to eat good food with friends and knew more about Korean culture. Eileen is a very independent and cool girl and I appreciate her personality a lot.

After we stuff with too much food, we had a walk to the Wimbledon Park for almost 2 hours. The park was well-maintained and  many young families were enjoying their afternoon with their babies.  There are many independent fashion shops, food stores, cafes and restaurants. Overall, Wimbledon is a nice place to live and it is only in Zone 3.

Over a year in London, I am very glad that I found some of the close friends to share experiences. Life is not easy to go through without friends. Thanks all the friends in my life to keep my alive and accompanied.

韩国好朋友 Eileen (Jiyong)邀请我们去她家吃韩国菜,她住在温布顿，离市中心1个小时。她从早上9点就起来准备，弄了很多好吃的给我们，还给我些打包呢，真贴心！昨天过得真的开心，大家一起动手帮忙，然后吃吃喝喝聊天，是最开心的事！Eileen是个十分独立有个性的女孩，我很欣赏她的性格。

大家吃了太饱了，决定走去温布顿公园，一走就走2个小时。蛮喜欢温布顿的区域的，很多富有中产阶级的家庭住在那里，很多时尚的个性店，新鲜蔬菜店，餐厅和cafe，是一个住行都蛮方便的地方，公园又不远，离伦敦市区大概1小时的车程，不错的地点。

在伦敦快1年了，快乐的时间过太快了，但很开心认识蛮多好朋友的。大家来自世界各地，从认识到成为好朋友，难得大家性格的都相近而又成熟，可以一起能分享生活的点滴，真蛮难得。 生活假如没有好朋友陪同，真难过！谢谢朋友们和我一起走过的日子。

After the business exam, Vicky, Miwa and us decided to have some dimsum as a reward after my hard revision. We chose famous Pingpong restaurant in Liverpool Street to have an unlimited dimsum. It means that you spent 17 pounds and eat whatever you want.

The restaurant environment is modern and stylish. John and I order some lychee drink, friends ordered some Wulong tea. The menu has about 15-25 choices for you to choose. Dimsum’s flavour was quite authentic. However, we all could tell that they were slightly westernised. Unbelievably, we ate 30 dishes in total, and I ate the most.

Overall, I think it’s worth trying and definitely worth 17 pounds if you can eat a lot like me. I will still recommend it for you to try the Pingpong Dimsum. Some more delicious dimsum pictures are here.

终于考完管理一科拉，我们决定要好好对待自己，所以去利物浦街出名的点心餐厅吃点心 － 乒乓点心。他们推出17磅任吃，啊，任吃点心，简直就是我的梦想嘛，实在太开心了。约翰和我点了荔枝果汁，他们点了茶，点心味道还蛮正宗的，但它做的稍微有点 ‘适合外国味道’。但是还是蛮好吃的，我们4人吃了30碟，强吧 （不过我吃的最多，他们的战斗力一般般呢）。不过总的来说，还是值得一试的，点心还是做得很不错。又有照片更新了。

总概括5星最好来说：环境：4星，食物3.5，服务：4星

Luckily I have past all my exams with my hard-work, and got some satisfied results during this year. However, I was not supposed to write something here because I am still doing my final revision. I think I might take a break from it.

During one year, I improved a lot in English Academic Studies and learnt incredible new things, as well as meeting so many friends in London. I have to admitted that studying in the UK is hard that is why I put so much effort on it . I enjoy living in London which is a fantastic metropolitan city with never ending restaurants, shopping, drinking and night-life. I don’t think I never will feel tired of living here.

Anyway, John, Miwa and I went to eat some Indian food for rewarding our hard studying. Sometimes you just want to eat some big spicy curry dishes and there were so delicious and tasty. Friends and I went to have some Spanish food in Soho on Friday night, it was very tasty and reasonable. Good food, good life, then happy day for me! Some updated pictures here.

幸运的我总算过了这一年的辛苦学习，也得到了非常满意的分数，这些分数来之不易啊，要得到高分十分不容易。本应该还在复习最后考试的，但我想给自己一个喘口气的时候。

这一年中，我在英文学术方面提高了很多，也学了很多经济管理和政治的科目，我真的蛮喜欢的新知识的。同时也认识了很多全球各地的朋友，让我认识他们的文化和性格。拿一个英国文凭不简单啊，我真的花费了很多心思和精力去得到好成绩。伦敦－这个国际大都市，富有历史文化底蕴，又是摩登时尚购物和食物天堂，酒吧文化，是个不夜城，只要有钱，生活在这里会很好过。对于我喜欢新鲜的我，实在太爱伦敦了，总给我无数的新体会。

为了奖励大家的辛苦学习，今晚我们去吃了印度菜，约翰吃不了辣，点了超级大的牛肉汉堡加烟肉，但我和日本朋友点了超辣的咖喱牛肉，美和点了咖喱虾，喝上黑啤，真是享受。有时候你就是特想吃辣辣的咖喱！周五又和好朋友去吃西班牙菜，享受辛苦的奖赏的！ Cheers！有更多的照片！

Second Day

The weather was foggy when we arrived Brighton, however, I can imagine it would full of people when it comes to Summer. Brighton is a lively and young city. At first, we went to the Theme park in Brighton Pier and had some fun. Then we visited the famous Royal Pavilion, then we drove to the Beachy Head.

Beachy Head, from the name you can tell is the pointy cliff of Sussex, as famous as the white cliffs. We stopped there for half and hour and it was really relaxing. You could see a open-space land and the ocean, sheep, cows and farms. Then we drove back and ate in a famous Dimsum restaurant called Drunken Monkey in Liverpool Street. I heard there are many celebrities and cool trendy young people hanging out there, so it must be great to eat and hang out. Food was not bad; price was totally acceptable, but service could be improved. Then we drove back home and had a great fun holiday.

Third day – Lee Valley

Last station was Lee Valley – 40 minutes drive outside London, then we had a picnic in the park, and rent 4 bikes and rode for 4 hours, seeing the canal, forest, swans and enjoyed the sun and Spring in England. It was the most amazing place to have a weekend break for cycling. Bike rental is 2 pounds per hour. Super good deal. Here are some more pictures.

第二天 －布朗顿 ／ 海滩头

我们开车1个半小时后，到达布朗顿，可惜天气还是有点雾气，海滩上不是很多人，布朗顿是出了名的漂亮和有海滩度假胜地。但可以想象中夏天应该超级多人到这里来晒太阳。给我的感觉它是一个年轻有活力的城市。我们走到海边的‘游乐场’玩了‘鬼屋’ 上下飞船，吓死我了，象海盗船一样，太久没有玩了，功力下降了许多！然后去出名的有印度色彩的－皇宫宫殿，听说以前一个国王旅游到印度，喜欢印度的宫殿建筑就照样子也建了一个，然后我们吃了个简单的炒面就开车去海滩头了。

海滩头，象它的名字一样，是布朗顿最凸出的陡峭的峭壁，也是以白色峭壁出名，我们走了半个小时，海滩头给人很开阔和休闲的感觉，很自然，看着羊啊牛的，吃着草，广阔的草地，看着海，晒着太阳，感觉朴素中带浪漫，十分享受。大家也累了，开车到伦敦商业街利物浦街吃饭，选了一个听说蛮多名人去蒲的餐厅叫 － 醉猴，吃点心和喝酒的地方。我们点了很多点心和些鸡尾酒。食物还可以，价格也蛮能接受的，但服务要改进下。这样就结束了我们第二天旅游。

第三天 － Lee Valley

我们选了伦敦郊外一个公园湖边野餐和骑自行车，放松和运动，户外运动是我们的最爱。单车是两位退休老人家成立的，2磅一个小时，哪里有这么便宜，晚去还没有单车租呢，十分popular啊！值得推荐。这里还有超级多的照片呢！

Today it’s my 27 years birthday but also is my first birthday in the UK. I am very grateful that I have met a lot of good friends as well as having such a good time together during the school term. Last night, we went to celebrate our tri – birthdays for Elieen from Korean, John and me who were all born in March with Miwa and Vicky. John found a French restaurant called Savoir Faire in Holborn, and it has been recommended as the top-table in 2008 with 5 stars reviews.

The restaurant was very cosy, French style with oil-panting on the wall. Only flaw was the music! The price was affordable and the food was absolutely tasty, just like their name – Savoir Faire in French means someone knows the trick.

We ordered some wine, starters, main courses and desserts. I ordered a slowed-braised lamp and it was a super huge lamb leg with mush-potato, which it could feed two people and I ate them all! Others ordered the popular dish – Duck, and John ordered a fish dish. After the meal, we all stuffed and left with a big satisfaction. Friends and I had a fantastic time with delicious food. London is the city you can think of any food from different nationalities, and never could try them all.

I have received many birthday cards and wishes from friends and families. John bought me the ticket to see Keane with Ladyhawke Concert on 30th of May. I have bought myself many clothes to spoil myself. Moreover, John cooked a delicious fish with roasting huge mushroom with cheese tonight, along with beer and chocolate pudding!

今天是我27岁的生日，同时也是我在英国的第一个生日。幸运的我在短短的半年中认识很多好朋友，也和他们度过了很多校园美好的时光！昨晚我们为了庆祝韩国美女Elieen，约翰和我三人都是3月份生日，一起和日本好友美和和香港老友Vicky一起五人读过。约翰选了个法国餐厅，听说这个餐厅10年历史，评价很高，很多杂志和评论都说食物超级棒，厨师有5星级的水平，这一定要尝试下。

餐厅十分法国味道，2层楼，墙壁是手工的大幅油画，唯一不足的是音乐 – 配合不了餐厅的味道。价钱中高，但食物超级美味！ 就像餐厅的名字在法文的意思是 – 它知道秘诀 (他们能做出拿手好菜！)我们叫了红酒，开胃菜，主菜和甜点 – 我选了漫炖了5个小时的羊腿和土豆泥，羊腿够2-3个人的分量，我自己一人独吃掉！其他朋友选了最出名的鸭胸，程度刚刚好，约翰点了鲈鱼，他说超级好吃！然后再甜点！天啊，我们把碟子都吃得一干二净，5个人吃到超级饱，决定去伦敦眼周边走半个小时消化下，大家对餐厅的评价特别高，食物超级物有所值！

太爱伦敦的理由就是你可以吃到全球各地特别好吃的食物，因伦敦多元化很多国际人都在这里生活，餐厅的选择更是超级多，你要你想到的，都可以找到，品种太多了！

约翰送给我Keane的5月底VIP伦敦演唱会门票和一双西班牙出的运动鞋，我看了很久，就是太贵不拾得买，他买了给我。我当天在自己买了几条裙子，哈哈！我们今晚喝些啤酒，烤大蘑菇加芝士在上面，烤鱼和甜点是巧克力布丁，浓浓的巧克力从布丁里面流出来，超级棒！
