Madeleine Peyroux in London Barbican

Madeleine Peyroux performed in London Barbican on 8th July. I booked it 2 months ago and finally it’s happened. The openning was Sophie Hunger, Sophie’s voice was amazing and clear, so suitable for jazz vocal. I did enjoy her first hour’s opening performance. Sophie sang three languages songs including German, French and English. Her style is not entirely Jazz, more like lounge, folk and modern jazz.

When Madeleine walked out the stage, she got a lot of applauses and everyone was so excited. Madeleine’s voice is just like Bille Holiday. It’s really unique with the modern twist and her own style. Since the first time I heard Madeleine’s album <Careless Love> and I felt in love with her jazz music. It was amazing for her to perform in London while I am still in London. I so enjoyed her 2 hours performance and wish we will see more jazz concerts in the future.
