Oh, Christmas time! John and I drove to North (Leeds and Sheffield) to spend our Christmas with family. Melanie and Paul have their first daughter Beatrice in November and we are another Auntie and Uncle.

We all decided not to have a traditional Christmas food this year because it always stresses everyone out about the turkey and so many dishes to be prepared. I am pleasure to be the Christmas chef and I decided to cook one of my favourite dishes from River Cottage recipe – Cider Mushroom Chicken as our main course. We brought some pre-made starters and desserts. I know it was cheating and we rather spend more time with family rather than messing about in the kitchen. Christmas is about family gathering and we are happy to have our new born niece to join this year.

This is my third Christmas in the UK and it always got me something surprised. Hope everyone enjoyed your Christmas!
