Knaresborough Trip

Knaresborough is not far from Leeds and Harrogate. It is a beautiful sunny weekend, and feels like Spring, so we decided to have a small trip and re-visit Knaresborough again.

It is a really pretty town with a magnificent view with rivers, mountains and a lot of parks. It is a very nature countryside town like Bakewell town. However, if let me choose to buy a house, I think I still prefer Harrogate and Ilkley.

The Pembroke in Kensington / Earls Court

John told me there is a fancy restaurant and pub called The Pembroke, where it has amazing food located in Kensington and earls court. We were in Kensington area, and decided to have lunch there.

Compared with normal pub restaurant, The Pembroke got fancy decor but also welcoming atmosphere. Price is a little bit expensive than normal pub food, but we are talking in Kensington area. John guaranteed me that the food will blow me away, and it deserved the price. I ordered a luxury lobster linguine, and John ordered a special dish leek and parsnip crumble and mash potato.

My lobster linguine was amazing, and John’s humble crumble tasted absolutely gorgeous. I have never tasted so good and unique potato mash. It’s really die for. Then being naughty of me, I ordered a sticky toffy pudding with ice-cream. It was delicious as well. Food are qualified as restaurant food.

I definitely recommended this restaurant if you are in the kensington or earls courts. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Champagne In Harvey Nicole

Mel, Alex and me decided to have another night out. I always enjoy our girls night with a lot of chatting and wine. We went to Harvey Nicole for our first Champagne bottle, then we went to 2 popular pubs in city centre for our cocktails (don’t know their names, but was fun even though it was a raining night)

I do like girls night with cocktails or champagne and girls sharing. It was a fun night and always so nice to hang out with Mel and Alex.

Red Chilli Restaurant for Chinese New Year

After craving for some dumplings in Chinese New Year Eve, I dragged John to have some Chinese food yesterday. John teased me said I just had an excuse to eat more food. It’s true, and how naughty I am. We had been to Cantonese Ho’s restaurant a lot of time. If you need to eat dumplings, the best dumpling is from the North region of China.

There is a Norther spicy food in Leeds City Centre called Red Chilli, which is quite famous. We went and ordered some northern food. Price is a little bit expensive, but food is not bad as well as service. We tried few dishes, and it was very authentic. Overall 4 stars of 5.

We properly ate too much and enjoy lovely Chinese New Year Eve dinner in Red Chilli.

Happy Chinese Rabbit Year 2011

It’s 2011! Time flies and another chinese new year is coming. It’s funny to talk to my Mum and she asked me whether we have few days off because chinese new year, then I explained to her that no any body is living in Chinese world except Chinese people. This year is rabbit year, and John was born in a rabbit year in 1975. Superstitiously, Rabbit and Dog (my year) is the good combination and wish everyone and us will live happily and healthily. Most importantly, Gong Xi Fa Cai – 大家恭喜发财!

The cover picture was sticker called Fu. It is symbolic meaning that you will have fortune and lucky in the new year. The sticker also contains 12 different animals cutting inside, which represents 12 different years. It’s very impressive hand craft.

Baby From Warpaint

Warpaint‘s latest album called ‘The Fool’ is really good. Their style is melancholy rock / indie and always make you sink into the your deep thought. It got a dark and sad energy, but still alternative rock. Like their both albums ‘ The Fool (2010) and Exquisite Corpse (2009)’.

The song ‘Baby’ always remind me of someone when I dated with someone  – young and passionately. Youth was full of colour and adventure. Even I am still young, sometimes I don’t think I have much energies before. life is full of with reality and I always try my best to live a reality life with passion.

Baby
Don’t you call anybody else baby ’cause I’m your baby still.
It took a long time to make it, but I never changed my mind.
I never tried to fake it, never drew a line.

Don’t you call anybody else baby ’cause I’m your baby still.
Took a long time to make it, but I never changed my mind.

You speak your fears, thinking in circles and checking what mirrors don’t see.
You live your life like a page from the book of my fantasy.
How I love you.

The XX

John introduced me that there is a really young band and they got an alternative album called the XX. I listened few times, and I really like it. It’s like an unknown underground band, but they are very talented and creative. Really like their album. Good simple alternative music. High Recommend. You can hear them in their MySpace.

Still Night, Still Light From Au Revoir Simone

I’ve been listening ‘Still Night, Still Light’ from Au Revoir Simone for these few days. Really love her voice, and she reminds me of Nina Persson from The Cardigans sometimes. I never heard of them and they are a new band from New York. Really good band, hope they are continue producing good music. Here is their MySpace.

Nina Ricci 2011 Pre-fall

I used to buy fashion magazine very often, and I just liked to touch and feel the paper to see those gorgeous clothes. After using Ipad and download Style.com application, I totally love it. It’s incredible to see fashion show in high definition resolution and I am now so obsessed with style.com application. High recommended this application (free download)

Anyway, when I saw Nina Ricci’s pre-fall 2011, I really love the colour combination, the cutting and the good quality of materials, most importantly it suits my style.

I am always passionate for fashion, but I have my own style – which I like elegant, classical and colourful & fun! Fashion, music and perfume are all very personal. There is no right or wrong, and whether you like it or not. They are also inspiration in life, and I don’t think I can live without these 3 items.

Girls night out

Colleagues became my good Leeds friends went out for a girls night out in Ho’s Chinese restaurant which they really like their food. With different religion of restriction food and different taste was quite hard to satisfy everyone’s taste. However Ho’s did have a lot of selection and they all went back home with a really full stomach and smile.

Then we decided to go to a famous gay pub in city centre to have few drink and dance. It was really a fun night, and I really treasure and lucky to have all my friends in Leeds. They are really good people.
