Jazz artist–Madeleine Peyroux

Madeleine Peyroux a 22-year-old American who had been living in Paris as a street musician, suddenly found herself on the fast track to fame. Appearances at Lilith Fair and jazz festivals, and opening tours for Sarah McLachlan and Cesaria Evora followed, while Dreamland’s sales reached an impressive 200,000 copies worldwide. “It was great,” recalls Peyroux. “I got to perform with fantastic musicians. I got to see Nina Simone live. I could’ve kept running with it, but instead I stepped back and took a breather.”

Many people have compared her sound to Billie Holiday and we tend to agree.Among the songs she covers are Leonard Cohen’s “Dance Me to the End of Love,” Bob Dylan’s “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go,” Elliott Smith’s “Between the Bars” and Hank Williams’ “Weary Blues from Waitin’,” each a twist on the original — Cohen more haunting, Dylan more joyful — accentuated by an able band and Larry Klein’s delicate production. Her time away hasn’t hurt sales; the album is lodged in the top five on Billboard’s jazz chart.

Well I heard Peyroux voice it’s from the soundtrack of the movie ” Autumn in New York”—Theme song ” Getting Some Fun Out of Life”. Her voice isn’t sound like a 22-pear-old girl; it’s pretty deep and special voice but fix jazz vocals. The ” Weary Blues” and ” Dance me to the End of Love” first came to my ears and I feel like I am in love again and make me want to sway immediately. Good music need to be appreciate and no need to talk too much. Let’s bring a glass of wine or bubbling champagne, play her music, and enjoy the moment.

在第一次听到“Weary Blues”和“Dance me to the End of Love”让我感到我再次恋爱了,瞬间想跟音乐一起摇摆.

Fashion Magazine—VOGUE

VOGUE was hit in China in August 15th; so we got the firstVOGUE CHINA magazine in China. We can see that all of the fashion designers are focussing on China;Giorgio Armani visited Shanghai and will open more Armani shops in China and they know we have a lot of potential in the future. We all know China needs more enterprises and different cultural influences. Meanwhile, I hope China will be become more cosmopolitan, like HK, which can accept different nationalities.

Back to the fashion Magazine, ELLE and COSMOPOLITAN it’s all women’s favorite dessert. You can go surf online at VOGUE or the China vogue. I visited both of them. It’s cool and simple to see the fashion show and latest fashion trends online. For all the fashionable women and men, it’s nice to see all the clothes and shoes. I suggest you look when you are tired or need a break at work; take a coffee or tea and surf on Vogue, it will stimulate your nerves and this colorful stimulation will make you feel better during the day. There are many parts and styles for you to choose and to match your fashion desire.

Breakfast at Tiffany— Think of it

Tonight I saw “Breakfast at Tiffany” again. I have watched it for third time now. It is based on Truman Capote’s 1958 novella of the same title, BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S (1961), is the story of a woman on her own making her way in the big city. The novel has a completely different ending compared with the movie. The movie version has of course got a happy ending. It’s such a classical movie and most people have watched it and love it.

BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S is quirky, funny, bewildering, serious, sophisticated and bittersweet — and as movies go, great entertainment.

I love all the dresses in the 60s.

Audrey Hepburn always got her typical hair style and dress. There is a fatty ginger cat who doesn’t have proper name, and is just called “cat”. It is so cute and really fat. I also love the theme song “Moon River”, when Audrey is singing it with a little guitar. It’s very romantic and peaceful. Nowaday, we can hear Jazz version “Moon River” all the time. It reminds me of this movie every single time I hear it.

The last conversations in the movie make me think all the time:

Are people really afraid to get married or settle down in one place, because they don’t want to be tied up. Of course not everyone does, but some of us do.

Are we called a free spirit or wild thing because we are terrified somebody’s going to stick us in a cage? Maybe we are in a cage we build ourselves. No matter where we go, we just end up running into ourselves.

Like Paul in the movie said and answered it —life is a fact, and people do fall in love. People do belong to each other; because that’s the only chance any body’s got for happiness.

Yes, I think so. We will find our soul mate and the right person in my life. What do you think?

Well. It’s quite right about it.

Tiffany

James Blunt–Back to Bedlem

Jame Blunt has seemingly come from nowhere to scale the heights of both the album and the singles charts and it’s easy to see why. Singing with genuine conviction and wearing his heart on his sleeve, his songs of love and loss, expertly written and delicately produced, have struck a chord with everyone who has more than an ounce of emotion.

I found his voice is so special, like Chris of Coldplay. But his music is different from Coldplay or Keane. He got his style, and I really like his album. He is a young gifted singer-songwriter described by Q Magazine as ‘A major talent in waiting’The whole world is having a James Blunt storm…I saw his ” You are beautiful” MTV and it’s nice video to watch and sad story backgroud that he died in the end. He is genius in music…I really appreciate all the people repect MUSIC.

“You’re Beautiful” and ” Out of my mind” “Wiseman” ,”No Bravery” ,”High” ,” Tears and rain” so many songs and lyrics I do like. I can’t find his album in China yet. My friend will buy for me in HMV soon. I am expecting to listen whole album.

His website design is really fascinating and simple. Every page got different colour and design and also has James Blunt’s BLOG.

romantical-love-painting

Look up the fingernail noon,
With a sentimental mood.
Sunbathe in dark light
With a blue night.
Guide your home line
With stars bright.

Flying clouds over your head
Blowing winds crush your hair
With a usual slight fragrance
Peaceful, silent, darkness

Suddenly,
Moon behind clouds
Winds become strong,
Light becomes vague
A strike of coldness from winds
A drop, two drops, three drops…

Sarah Mclachlan “afterglow Live”

I bought the new Sarah Mclachlan’s Afterglow Live DVD a few month ago. I decided to watch it yesterday. Sarah’s folk rock music has affected me and touched my inner soul when I listened to it. All the songs and lyrics were all written by her; her melancholic voice and her eyes in the performance told you many stories from her music. Somehow, and I didn’t know why, her music made me cry a little. It’s silly that every song caused this to happen. I figure out maybe the reason – tears for her music, tears for the music stealing my heart, tears for being her audience.

Sarah said in her concert that at the moment she was married and had a little girl that it was a big change for her and also her music; then she decided to write a love song and for the first time in her career she wrote a happy one. Sarah’s lyric all are written about: fear, inner struggle, mystery, blues, sweet and bitter about love and her attitude to life. If you are a fan of Sarah then you know her lyrics and musical style. I remember I found Sarah’s music when the movie “City of Angels” came out in 1998. Sarah’s “Angel” was written for this movie. Since that, I have listened to “Angel” at least a hundred times, and I even sang it once in my school life.

I listen to her music when I need a moment alone or need inspiration. I don’t think her music will be popular once and then disappear afterwards. Her music is not like flowers, which look nice in the golden time and their transient beauty declines in the blink of an eye. I would say her music is art, immortality and I am never-tired of enjoying her creation. She doesn’t publish many albums, but every one is the distillation of her soul. She always has a way to perform the same song with various styles to challenge her. Her performances are fantastic and worthy of a ticket to her concert.

What can I say, I love her music. As Sarah says, some inspiration doesn’t come out easily and naturally. It’s full of work.

I like to write a poem for Sarah’s music, taken from the great poet John Keats:

To music—
Art is immortal beauty is truth, truth beauty. That’s all.

Miss Hong Kong

carmen-in-hk

It is a spring and the weather is so changeable like the song “ Come Rain or Come Shine”. It’s the most appropriate to describe it. However, the weather reminds our Hong Kong trips. Most time while we visiting HK were foggy days, but nothing stop its attractions.

While we were in HK, we sat outside of Delifrance café and having a fresh breakfast or lunch near the Victoria Harbor in Kowloon. The cool wind with slight grass smell after the spring rain made me feel so alive and reborn. We normally go to HK for different food and go shopping like everyone, such as in HMV for hours looking for our favorite CDs, or be ease in hotel enjoying the luxury bubble bath, or go to have a good bite in a nice restaurant. Hong Kong for us is a relaxing place and can experience the variety choices which can not find in Guangzhou.

HK is a multicultural city and we love travelling there at the weekend.

Music inspires my thoughts

chet_baker

Speaking of music I do admit music infects my soul, my blood and every cell in my body. When I listen the music especially Jazz, I can’t help myself indulging myself in music. It feels like the virus that it has invaded my mind and stroked my nerve to follow its melody and rhythm. I imagine the wind rustling through the grass, and the birds are singing, as well as the cycle of the seasons and the alternation of night and day are changing. I felt into my imagination and the flashback, and I feel I could visualize the future.

Sometimes I am such a romantic idealist and maybe I have too much energy and enthusiasm and wish I can experience all in the world. Music inspires me into various things in my life. When I listen to music, I always sink into profound thoughts.

Although human being’s hearts are fragile, their wills can be strong and tough. Life is about contradiction.

Who was the first create music? Thanks all the composers create such beautiful melody. They make rhythmical composition in the sequence of the musical phrase rather than in the sequence of a metronome. I can not imagine if I live without music, it will be like a fish without of water. I may say: I got a “FEVER” of music today. like the Jazz song ” fever”.
